First Round

SSP underway in 2023, after much rainfall over the past six weeks all courses were a little damp.

First round matches were very tight which is a carry over from the 2022 competition. In the Vinyards’ Darby between Cypress Lakes and Hunter Valley - whilst the competition was fierce Cypress Lakes prevailed on the day and plenty of red wines were enjoyed post play. Home club Kurri Kurri are definitely the dark horses in 2023 with a very impressive win over Hawks Nest. Murees’ early form backs up their impressive finish last year in the final defeating Nelsons Bay at Nelsons Bay. Merewether came out of the blocks strong having Toronto struggling by the ninth hole, the local boys from Toronto finding form on the back nine of their home game to nudge out Merewether in a tight finish.
